THOUGH I NEVER SAW YOU
AND YOU TOO DON’T KNOW ME,
BUT TODAY WHEN I READ YOUR WORKS
I REALLY HOPE I COULD HAVE SEE THEE.
I READ YOUR POEMS SUCH AS,
VEIL & IF,
AND KNEW THE POWER YOU HAD
WHICH MADE ME BELIVE.
HOW NICE YOU MUST HAVE BEEN
HOW PLEASANT YOUR THOUGHTS MIGHT BE,
THAT MUST HAVE BEEN THE REASON WHY,
GOD MADE YOUR SOUL FREE
MAY BE YOU WERE NOT FIT FOR THIS,
CRUEL UNPLESENT AND HARSH LAND,
MAY BE YOU BELONG TO SOME OTHER WORLD
MAY BE YOU DESERVE SOMO OTHER SAND.
ALL I READ IN YOUR WORK,
LEFT WITH ME A PICTURE WHICH SHOW
A GIRL SO YOUNG KNEW A LOT,
WHICH IS ENOUGH FOR ALL TO BOW.
This poem is dedicated to SANGITA DAS, a very honest poet though I never got the privilege to meet her but have read her poems and saw the honesty in her work and her deep knowledge about each and every word she jots down. She is no more with us but I hope and pray to god that this prodigious talent always remain intact wherever her soul may be. MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE. AMIN.
